Nick Holland’s career in mining sparked a deep appreciation for gold—not merely as a precious metal, but as a symbol of beauty, rarity, and finiteness.

These same attributes form the foundation of his appreciation for exceptional wine: both require careful extraction and craftsmanship to reveal their true value; this is in synchronicity with Roslyn Holland’s love of fine wine, which inspired the Belle Montagne vision.

During their travels, the couple recognised a gap: few South African wines stood among the world’s most prestigious. With a commitment to change that, they carved a home in Franschhoek, South Africa’s wine and culinary capital, and laid the foundation for future excellence.
To bring their dream to life, the Hollands assembled a fittingly world-class team. Multi-award winning and internationally acclaimed winemaker Coenie Snyman crafts the wines, while Spencer Fondaumiere, president of the South African Sommeliers Association, leads the brand’s introduction to the market.
The first collection of Belle Montagne is set to be released in 2025, poised to join the ranks of the world’s most prestigious cuvées.
